Rumi (1207 – 1273): Hiding Away

I walked with this crowd for a while.
Alas! Honesty existed not in all the pile!

Let us then hide away- from their sight,
Like the water unseen- in heated iron socks,
Like the flames concealed- in the snowy rocks!
